The Obama administration is set to be discussing a proposal for Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak to resign immediately. Burma has a new president. I'm David Forest report from Washington.

US officials said Obama Administration is in talks with Egyptian officials on a proposal from Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak to resign immediately and turn power over to transitional government. That government would be headed by vice president Omar Suleiman, and would have the support of Egyptian Military. The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, say if the proposal calls for transition government to invite members from a broad range of opposition groups, including the banned Muslim Brotherhood, to begin work to open up country’s electrical system.

Thousands of anti-governments protestors in Egypt, meanwhile, launched the new push to oust Presidents Mubarak, they have gathered for a rally at Cairo's Tahrir Square. Luis Ramirez reports.
In the air, and on the ground, Egyptian army took up positions to guard the entrance to the Tahrir Square. The Friday Rally follows the days of bloody and street battles between pro- and anti- government supporters, and tensions were high in the hours before the rally. Thousands of anti-government protesters marched peacefully into the square following Muslim Friday's preys. In the early hours of the rally, there was a jovial atmosphere with some demonstrators singing and waving flags, the demonstrators, however, are as firm as ever in their purpose. A Somalia man has been found as been given a nine-year jail sentence in Denmark, he was found guilty of attempting to attack a Danish cartoonist, who has drawn pictures of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad. Selah Hennessy has a report.

29-year-old Muhammad Geele broke into the home of the Danish cartoonist last year; he was carrying an axe, and according to the cartoonist, he was screaming you must die, the man who was attacked disturb the guard. In 2005 he drew a picture of the Prophet Muhammad with a bomb in his turban, and he was one of the number of caricatures published Denmark that sparked anger and protest around the world, during the attack, Westergaard hit in a makeshift panic room and was unhurt.
