5 Tips To Remember Before Your Interview!

阅读更多

You applied for your DREAM job, rocked the phone interview with the Recruiter, and received the opportunity to meet with the hiring manager and team in person for an onsite interview.

You've got your elevator pitch on point, researched the company and professionals you will be meeting with (the company's website and professionals LinkedIn profiles are great resources), understand the role, and have perfect questions to ask!

This is a big day - everything needs to go as planned, but often times during a stressful situation, everything seems to go completely wrong :(

Here are 5 helpful tips you should remember while preparing for your onsite interview...

1. Arrive on TIME

  • Set Multiple Alarms

If your interview is in the morning, if you need to leave your office at a certain time, or if you need to leave a meeting early - make sure to set reminders and alarms!

  • Arrive 1 hour - 30 minutes before your interview

Who cares if you feel LAME sitting in your car or a bench near the office HOURS before your interview! The important thing is to know that you are at the right location and can't possibly be late.

  • Re-read the confirmation sent by the Recruiter or Recruiting Coordinator

Recruiters typically will tell you exactly when you should arrive for your onsite interview. At Armanino we ask for the candidate to arrive 10 minutes before their interview. I know both our Recruiting team and hiring managers and interview teams greatly appreciate it when candidates arrive on time.

2. Know the EXACT location

  • Check GoogleMaps or other Map Apps to check if their are chances for traffic

If applicable do a "drive bye" the night before your interview, so you know EXACTLY where the office is located! If you are a visual person like I am, use google maps and view the location, so you know what it looks like.

3. Be OVER Prepared

  • Bring "Extra's" Just Incase Something Goes Wrong!

Might just be me, but I tend to SPILL EVERYTHING! Wouldn't hurt to pack an extra pair of clothes, extra copies of resumes, and business cards just in case!

4. Be Full & Focused

  • Eat a healthy meal before your interview

You are not always yourself when your HANGRY, so be sure to get a healthy meal before the interview. Try to stay away from too much coffee, sweets, spices or foods that may offend someone and PLEASE make sure to check your smile before! You don't want leftover bagel with creme cheese in those pearly whites!

5. Zzzz.....

  • Get a good nights sleep!

You will feel refreshed, ready to BRAG about yourself, answer all their questions, and show your stuff!
