Users Don’t Care About Your Design


当开始一个新设计的时候,我们总是很容易就陷入这样一种逻辑,认为访问我们网站的所有人都是网页设计师。(注释:潜意识里会忍不住这样做,虽然表面上都说:我站在用户的角度。我发现这个是普遍现象,有时候我自己也经常犯这个毛病,包括一些PD、PO的同学也会这样。)


我们还会让我们自己相信所有的访问者都会非常仔细的关注我们的设计,会仔细的分析页面的所有地方以并且会对这个设计是否漂亮是否原创做出判断。(注释:我敢保证,你肯定在某个项目里面做过这样的事情。为一些小而无用的小地方纠结,觉得这不这么改用户就会怎样怎样。)


实际上不是这么回事。你“真正”的用户根本不关心你的设计 —— 他们不会因为你用了牛B的jQuery来给下拉菜单添加一些扯蛋的弹跳效果感兴趣,也不会对你搞的一些用了很独特的动画的弹出框感兴趣。


一个有效率的设计,最理想的情况是用户根本“看”不到这个设计(注释:这是“人剑合一”的最高境界)——当然,他们也会在网站的页面之间搞来搞去,但是设计师的价值在于帮助这些用户能以尽量简单、方便的“搞来搞去”来达到他们的目的。


当我们要做一个有效率的设计必须首先专注于理解用户的需求,并且将之用于指导设计的过程。当设计者注意力转移到做一个优美的设计的时候他更关心如何把设计做的更有艺术感。(注释:这是错误的,下文有说)


当一个搞的很艺术的设计可能开起来很棒,且能得到其他设计者的称赞的时候,可能它并不是用户所需要的。他们想要一个简单、干净的交互体验让他们能够很快的完成他们的目标。


因此,挑战在于如何避免把设计做成艺术,如何做一个不是用来给用户“看”,而是是实实在在的帮助他们完成他们想做的事情的东西。


我们需要进入我们用户的思维当中 —— 哪些人使用我们的网站,他们用来干什么?


你了解这个原则之后,就只剩下关注设计核心元素和一些高效设计的原则了。(例如好的页面结构、信息架构、简单的导航、清晰的CTA,和一个赏心悦目的配色等等)


一定要保证设计是干净和简洁的 —— 然后马上停下。有可能这时我们还很有继续加东西的冲动,我们还会担心我们网站的设计还不够创新,我们的网站和其他一堆网站长的太像。


即使它和很多你曾经设计的其他网站类似也没关系 —— 是要它真的能帮用户的忙,而且简单易用,这个网站就完成任务了。


你在网站上添加的任何新潮的、讨巧的特效只是一大坨带来很少的价值的东西(而且很有可能让用户从他们手上的任务中分心)

“真正”的用户更不不关心你自己感觉良好的设计 —— 所以不要想太多 —— 它真的没有你想象的那么重要

感想:

其实文章还是说的老生常谈的话题。一个真正有用的设计,先要知道用户是谁,想干的是什么。而不是一上来就要做的界面多好看、交互多华丽。也许视觉的印象是网站给人最直观最容易吸引眼球的东西,但是吸引过后真正能留住用户的还是网站的内容和功能是否真正满足需要了。
