安装Ubuntu11.04后出现了这个问题，在玩warzone到时候感到很卡，估计是显卡驱动没有安装好。使用driver查看后，发现有这个提示信息。
我用synaptic将所有nvidia相关到软件包（包括依赖nvidia-core的ubuntu-desktop）都删掉，重新安装，但driver里面仍显示那个not currently in use的信息。
使用 sudo lshw -C display查看，发现configuration: driver=nvidia，而且在显示视频时明显不卡了，因此nvidia到驱动应该是安装好了。
这可能是additional driver的bug，建议使用lshw命令来验证nvidia的驱动是否安装成功。如果不成功，可以将已有的驱动全部删掉，重新安装。
安装最新到nvidia驱动命令：
sudo apt-get install nvidia-current
安装nviida-common:
sudo apt-get install nvidia-common
