SPAM/SAINT and some relevant questions

SAINT, a SAP Add-On Installation Tool, was developed to enable users to install and upgrade add-ons directly from their standard SAP system. You do not need to access the operating system or restart the system. Prior to installation, numerous import conditions are checked to ensure that only add-ons that fit the available SAP system can be installed.

SPAM, Support Package Manager,  provides you with an easy and effective way of importing SAP Support Packages into your system.

We can't start SPAM and SAINT at the same time, Since both wil using the PAT01,02and03 tables in the same time, so it doesn't work if you start in same time or simultaniously.
Its better to start one by one.

Questions:
1. which is the best client and user to execute SPAM/SAINT?
Client: 000
User: not SAP* or DDIC, but create a new user by copying from one of them.
SP & Add-on are all cross-client.

2. What is the process of upgrading the SPAM Manager and if there any downloads required to update the SPAM/SAINT Manager?
You need to download the patch for SPAM/SAINT upgrade.
  a). http://service.sap.com/patces --> Enty by application group --> Additional components --> SPAM/SAINT update --> SPAM/SAINT update <version>
  b). Download the latest version.
  c). Uncar in /sapmnt/trans at OS level. Go to SPAM and click support package --> import SPAM/SAINT update

3. In BI system, why I can't find InfoObjects like 0PLANT in Business Content?
In this case, first we need check if the Business Content Add-on has been installed on the BI system. Following are two snapshots of transaction SAINT of my ECC source & BI target system.

R/3 Plug-In(PI): contains ABAP objects, such as tables and programs, used for data extraction. If didn't install PI add-on yet, we would not able to find & install DataSource in transaction RSA5.

Buisness Add-on: Business Content is delivered as an add-on to SAP BI. It is a pre-configured set of role and task-relevant information models based on consistent metadata in the SAP Business Information Warehouse. Business Content provides selected roles within a company with the information they need to carry out their tasks. 

This information model includes integral roles, workbooks, queries, InfoSources, InfoCubes, ODS objects, key figures, characteristics, update rules, and extractors for SAP R/3, mySAP.com Business Applications, and for other selection applications.

Business Content can:
    ·         be used in particular industries without being modified
    ·         be modified, meaning you can work with it to any degree of detail
    ·         serve as a template or an example for customer-defined Business Content
    ·         Enables a quick and cost-effective implementation. On the other hand 

SAP Business Information Warehouse delivers pre-configured objects under the collective term “Business Content”. These objects speed up the implementation of the SAP Business Information Warehouse because they deliver complete solutions for business information requests.
