informatica email config on windows

E-mail on Windows can be sent in two ways :

 

1. Using MAPI which is if you have Microsoft Outlook configured to send the mails, then this is default way

which Informatica considers for sending mails.

 

2. Second one is using SMTP, for which SMTP relay service to send mails should be enabled and

configured to send mails. The Integration Service can send email using SMTP if authentication is disabled on the SMTP server.For this in Informatica, four attributes are required to be declared and set as

custom attributes in Informatica in integration service. These custom attributes, how they are declared and

values they require can be found in the Informatica help. After configuring these custom attributes,

Informatica overrides its default way of sending e-mails using Outlook and starts using SMTP server to

send these mails.
